SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Tipsy Putt is launching its new Monday Night Putters®, a new drop-in mini golf league designed for casual players, competitive putters and anyone looking for a more entertaining way to spend Monday night. The season begins Monday, August 24, 2026, and runs through Monday, November 16, 2026, at every Tipsy Putt location.

Unlike traditional leagues that require advance registration or a season-long commitment, Monday Night Putters gives players complete flexibility. Guests can drop in and participate on any Monday that works for them. There is no obligation to attend every week, making the league accessible to newcomers, longtime mini golfers, groups of friends and individuals who simply want to join the fun.

Monday Night Putters will be available at all four Tipsy Putt locations: Sacramento, East Bay–Emeryville, Monterey and South Lake Tahoe. Each participating Monday gives players an opportunity to compete, connect with their community and accumulate points toward the grand prize in a FedEx Cup-style format.

Weekly prizes will keep the competition exciting throughout the season, while the overall points leader will take home a massive grand prize valued at over $1000. The season champion will receive a two-night stay at one of two premier destinations: the five-star InterContinental Clement Monterey on Cannery Row or Caesars Republic in South Lake Tahoe, a $100 Fuel Gift Card to get you rto and from the destination and a $100 gift card to Tipsy Putt.

“Monday Night Putters is all about making golf fun, flexible and welcoming,” said founder Brandon Robinson. “Players can come once, join us every Monday or participate whenever their schedule allows. Every round is a chance to win, meet new people and move up the season standings.”

Play By Your Own Rules

Katherine Hepburn once said, “If you obey all the rules, you miss all the fun.” Spice up your mini-golf party with some new rules, like:

  1. Make it a team sport. Split the group up into teams and combine their scores. You could even have your own pro-am tournament by pairing the best players with those who might not be quite as competitive.
  2. Add a different challenge for every hole. For instance, on the first hole, everyone has to putt with their non-dominant hand. On the second hole, everyone putts with their eyes closed. You could also try putting backward or through the legs or using the golf club like a pool cue to tap the ball in the hole.
  3. Change the objective. Instead of trying to get the ball in the hole, everyone tries to get as close to the hole as possible without going in. Limit the number of strokes each player gets to two or three.

Include Penalties and Prizes

Raising the stakes is another good way to get everyone’s competitive juices flowing. At the beginning of the round, everyone puts a little money in the pot. Winner takes all! If you don’t want to play for money, you could also incorporate prizes. Here’s a breakdown of how it works: Grab your mallet and ball from our beertender, and when you’re ready to play, place the mallet on the table to push your ball forward. The more you go the distance, the more points you’ll score.

Not happy with your first score? You can always push the envelope and try again. This is where strategy comes in—you’re locked into your second score regardless of whether it’s better or worse than the first. The person with the highest score wins!
